Birthday party

These are for a Brazilian surfer. I was planning on some Brazilian flags, but they didn't work out the way I had hoped, so I did some extra polka dots instead.

I am a bad blogger

my new logo sticker

The cookie tree

I can barely keep up with myself. I am back to work and have been very busy in the kitchen. First I made cupcakes for an Intuit product launch- then I made cookie favors for my dear friend Nina's baby shower. Between the baby, work, and clean-up I haven't been good about posting or discussing these things. for both I used edible printable icing to get some various logos onto things that I didn't think I could do in icing. I could do the University of Oklahoma, but not San Diego State's logo that small on a cookie- so for consistency's sake, I did both on printable icing with edible ink. I LOVE the look of both the cupcakes and the cookies. Very pleased :)

Mickey Mouse (Mee Maow) 2nd Birthday Party

Mickey's and "2"s (don't you love the mickey shaped confetti sprinkles?

My nephew Koa's 2nd birthday party had a Mickey Mouse theme. I had so much fun making baked goods galore ready for the big day.
First I did Mickey Mouse cookies with the number "2" cookies, then a smash cake with Mickey surfing a wave, and then 48 cupcakes for the guests to enjoy. Here are the photos:

An Ocean Full of Goods

My marine ecology class is just about done for the year. We have a class field trip next week camping in Morro bay. I decided to bake some ocean creatures to celebrate this trip and the end of the school year. I also wanted to make some mermaids so I could add them to the 'edible mermaid' site.
What do you think?
My husband finds them tasty.
I also used vanilla bean paste in the recipe- this adds some small vanilla flecks to the batter and cookies- but has definitely become my new favorite cookie recipe.
I absolutely love the sea stars. They came out really well- I think this is my favorite cookie cutter to date. I found a beautiful copper mermaid from CopperGifts.Com, maybe I will have to treat myself!Copper Gifts has thousands of cookie cutters in amazing shapes. Literally hundreds of them!
